There’s a lot of reading to do, so if you were looking forward to a simple action-RPG, turn back (to the first game in this side-series, preferably). Indeed, the conversations in Swordcraft Story 2 are twice as long and in-depth as that of the first. Nonetheless, a large amount of dialogue was written to keep things fresh for any number of playthroughs, and I congratulate Atlus on taking the time to localize such a small game despite its large script. Some things stick out like a sore thumb for instance, whether male or female, many female NPCs ask for a chance to kiss you. Obviously, with all of the possible combinations of protagonist and sidekick (the number is eight, for those of you who failed all those wordy math problems), a lot of dialogue had to have been written. The similarities continue, as the protagonist (again, gender of your choice) chooses one of four possible summon creatures to be his/her Guardian Beast. Despite the new location and characters, the basic premise is almost entirely the same: start with a character choice (male or female), and learn that said character is the child of a famous Craftknight who saved the village (or perhaps the whole world) from impending doom by sealing off a wicked summon creature. Indeed, there is no mention of Craftlords or Wystern. The second Swordcraft “Story” takes place in a town completely removed from the first, with a completely different setting and premise. One may imagine that the game is “dated,” but it’s surprising to learn just how great a game can be even when it’s two years old. “Here, it looks like this” Lynn said as she took a pouch out of her pocket and lent it to me.Īaaaccchhhooooooo! I accidentally sneezed and some of the powder flew into the place, Arno then quickly covered my nose as he was holding his breathe and Lynn also covered her nose but, Orin, Master Blaire, and Tatiana weren’t able to cover their noses in time and sniffed the powder floating in the air, Lynn then grabbed my hand and dragged me outside.The follow-up to the first Swordcraft Story, Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 was released in Japan one year after its predecessor, though the span between the two games’ US release was only a few months.
“What does it look like?” I asked curiously “It depends on how you use it in a potion, but if you add it to a food or sniffed it, you would be totally obsessed by the food that you previously ate, or the food that you are currently eating” She informed “So what does this powder do?” Orin asked “It’s a special ingredient for potions used in Silturn, I stored some just in case of emergencies, but now I accidentally added it to a dish…” Lynn frowned “I was cooking food for breakfast, and as usual I cooked curry, I decided to add some more flavor to the curry and tried to improvice when I accidentally added some Oni Powder in the dish and served it by accident” She said “Huh? What’s the matter Lynn?” Orin asked “Lynn? What are you doing here?” He asked Edgar then stood up and opened the door to see who was outside, and to his surprise he saw Lynn who seemed troubled.
“Hm? What’s going on outside?” Blaire asked as the commotion grew louder and louder, then someone knocked at the door. “No master, I merely did what Tatiana instructed me to, and also added the things that the wind recommended me to add” Arno repliedĮveryone then laughed, then a commotion started outside. “Wait, if you didn’t change the recipe, then did you change it Arno?” Edgar asked “I don’t think I have, but it sure does taste better!” Tatiana replied “Mmm! This taste great! Did you make some improvements Tatiana?” Orin asked Then everyone took their seats, and as everyone was present at the table they started to eat. “REALLY?! Titania’s cooking? Now there’s a meal that I’m looking forward too!” Orin exclaimed. “Oh, good morning dad, Orin, yes it is, today were having curry on the menu.” Edgar said. “Mmm! Is that today’s breakfast I smell? Because it sure does smell good!” Blaire said “Yes, I helped Tatiana preparing meal for master it was hard but fun!” Arno said as he took a seat beside Edgar, then Orin and Blaire came down from the second floor. “Of course, with some help from Arno I was able to cook faster, he’s got potential at cooking you know!” Tatiana replied “Wait, so you cooked some curry today?” Edgar asked with high hopes One day as Edgar had just finished another sword Titiana called him for Breakfast then he went to the dinning room. After Edgar was able to defeat Guren he focused on improving his skills as a craftknight together with his partner guardian beast Arno.
